Lannuit is taking you to the heart of caribbean nights 🌒

Legends tied to Caribbean nights hold an essential place in the collective imagination and traditions. Passed down through generations, they have left a lasting imprint on Caribbean culture. Blending whispered tales with mysterious figures rooted in memory, these stories play a central role in heritage and transmission.

Lannuit reinterprets this legacy through fragrances that evoke the depth of these nocturnal narratives. Each scent draws inspiration from the tapestry of the magic and religious myths and the mystical, bringing to life these history-laden tales that remain very present in everyday Antillean life.

Nightime as a main stage 🌙

Although Antillean nights are lit by streetlights and electricity today, there was a time when sunset symbolized the transition between the realms of day and night.

According to orally transmitted legends, once darkness settled in, the outdoors and the night became the stage on which all kinds of mystical creatures appeared.
Volan, soukounyan, dowlis, bèt' a man Ibè, la dyablès, ti Sapoti… all these tales created a true folklore: the kenbwa.

It is within this foundation that Lannuit draws its inspiration to translate this part of culture into fragrance.

Doing a little mischief 🌚

Livernaj is inspired by one of the two seasons found in the Caribbean. Rainier and darker, it seemed like the perfect starting point for this night-dedicated collection. Its fragrance blends sultry notes in a gourmand accord that embodies the comfort and safety of your home.

Ti Mons is a nod to the legend claiming that anyone seeking wealth may strike a pact with a mystical creature nurtured inside an egg laid on Good Friday. To illustrate this, fruity and spicy notes intertwine in a dual harmony, capturing both the dark and mischievous sides of this myth.

Midnight rendez-vous 🕛

Once night has fallen, the soukounyan can be seen as a ball of fire (at one’s own risk). Soukounyan interprets the incandescent nature of this vampire through warm, spicy, and profound notes, creating an original and powerful fragrance.

Our mystical journey ends with Dowlis, which evokes an incubus said to roam the night. This unsettling myth is translated into scent through herbal, floral, and subtly spicy notes, resulting in a rich and mysterious fragrance that conjures the very depths of the night.

The dark Caribbean nights conceal many secrets. While the myths we interpret come to life in Guadeloupe and Martinique, they find echoes and counterparts throughout the entire Caribbean.

The folklore around the kenbwa stems from shared history and roots of all Caribbean people, giving birth to equivalents across the region all the way to Louisiana.

Lannuit pays tribute to this invisible bond that unites the Caribbean through culture, myths, and traditions often passed down orally.

The intoxicating scents of the collection takes you directly into this vivid imaginary world, anchoring these fables and their transmission into the real.
