Papiyon : Get to know the heart of caribbean gardens 🌺

There is no spring in the Caribbean and yet, the idea of renewal is very much present in the raindrops that give way to sunlight or in the blooming of plants guided by the passing months.

It’s this subtle and continuous energy that Papiyon explores deisgned as collection of candles inspired by the rich scents of Creole gardens and Caribbean nature.

The butterfly : emblem of the collection 🦋

The butterfly and its symbolism of renewal and nature’s awakening is at the heart of this collection.

It’s also a nod to Guadeloupe, often called the “Butterfly Island” because of its shape when seen from above.

The butterfly embodies the constant movement of life renewing itself. It flits from flower to fruit, exploring every corner of the garden, just as this collection explores the scents of Caribbean nature.

It also stands as a reminder of the fragility of life, of our ecosystems, and of biodiversity.

The Papiyon collection is an invitation to discover the energy emulated by Creole gardens as true sanctuaries of life where nature reveals all its richness.

The Creole garden reveals its flavors 🥭

Paradi Jaden means “paradise of the garden” and is inspired by two renowned gardens: the botanical gardens of Deshaies and Balata. Fruits and flowers burst with their unique flavors and merge into a fragrance that reveals their full beauty.

Koko Zabriko pays tribute to oral transmission through Creole. In some families, the garden is a place where knowledge is passed down. The fragrance embraces contrast, bringing to life the well-known Creole expression “pa mélanjé koko é zabriko” (meaning things might look alike but it doesn't mean they mix).
Here, the blend of velvety coconut and sun-drenched local apricot highlights the richness and nuance of Creole culture.

Between nature and feelings ❤️

Lòdè Lanmou, more sensual and sentimental, reinterprets the meaning of love through the magic of tropical flowers and spices. The scent is smooth and evocative, exploring the emotional dimension of butterflies in the stomach, feelings, and seduction.

Ti Dousè, in contrast, is more intimate. It evokes the river and the coolness of dawn. It captures the calm of the tropical rainforest imagined as a vast garden. The fragrance reveals soothing, airy notes that recall fresh morning air. It conveys the feeling of extasy after a bath and the refreshing sensation felt after a plunge in the Caribbean’s natural pools.

Our Papiyon collection urges us to restore the Creole garden to its central role: a place where nature expresses itself and knowledge is passed on.

They blend together plants, flowers, fruits, and herbs in a thriving bouquet but these gardens are also the stage for more subtle blooms: emotions, memories, and moments of togetherness.

They tell the story of our lifestyle embracing nature and this is the very essence that Papiyon seeks to honor through its fragrances.
